Trolls!

I'm not actually writing about these Trolls but since I am on the subject thought I'd show some of my Russ Troll collection. These were huge when I was a kid and I never had one and was jealous of my friends who had whole collections of them. So as an adult I started picking them up at yard sales etc. I recently found a box of them stored away and decided to give them a home in my studio. This is only some of them, maybe one day I'll share my complete Troll obsession with you! O.k. so maybe this post is a little bit about these Trolls! LOL!

Now on to the real reason for this post. For some reason, who knows why Trolls have been on my mind lately. I know I'm weird, but that's o.k. cause I like myself that way. Sitting watching t.v. I did a quick sketch (kind of embarrassed to show you) then made a quick pattern on the computer.

In the beginning Trolls were flat, without features or life.

They come into the world naked and grumpy.
(kind of like me in the morning, only not naked)

Even with warm tunics they still are not happy.
(Must be a Troll personality trait)

Please meet Granite. He's a Rock Troll. They live in
caves but prefer a good bridge where they can waylay
humans, play mind games, impose tolls and crunch bones.

They also have the cutest bums but hate to show them.
(this one bit me after I took the photo)

I have a forest Troll in progress so stay tuned for his debut.

Finished my Tardis Softie, Photos Galore!

Well I've finished my Tardis and to be honest is been done for a while but I still haven't sent it off. I'm having the hardest time letting it go! The deadline to send for the swap is tomorrow so I think I'll have to get the Girl to pry it out of my hands and off the the P.O.!

I just discovered that my swap partner doesn't have access to my blog and not being able to share it with you all is killing me! So I think it's o.k. to show since I don't think she can see it. I took major amounts of geeky sci-fi photos but I'll only share a few with you. Enjoy!

In case you don't know what a Tardis is, it's the time machine that Dr. Who travels around in. The outside looks like an old Police call box because the thing that made it blend in on Earth got stuck and then after a while the Doctor just liked it. Also it's bigger on the inside.

"The Doctor and Rose wonder how and why the Tardis shrunk"
The 4th Doctor (as a Meerkat) comes to check the situation out.
An epic battle ensues as a Dalek tries to steal the Tardis! Doctors
4 and 10 fight together to destroy this evil foe!
The Doctor thinks it's a little small but that's o.k.
cause it's bigger on the inside anyway!

Quick Peek At Alice

I'm continuing my Alice In Wonderland Plush Dolls.
Alice is coming along well. I've started to add much more
detail to her than I originally intended so she's taking
longer to make, but I'm really thrilled at how she looks.

I only sew at night after all my other work is done,
so things don't move as fast as I'd like.

Start With One Bunny And You Know What Happens!

A sweet little White Chocolate Bunny has moved into the studio.

She has an adorable cottontail.

Hippity Hoppity Easter's on it's way!

And so are Carmel, Milk Chocolate and Dark Chocolate Bunnies!

I think they need ribbons around their necks...what do you think?

Hot Pink Penguin For Valentine's Day.

My daughter who I call "the Girl" or Queen of Snarkdom
on twitter requested that I make a Hot Pink Mini
Penguin for her for Valentine's Day. She wanted a
heart on it with her nickname "Sen".

I sewed this up while watching the Opening Olympic
Ceremony and got so excited the "N" got a
bit wonky, but I know she'll like it anyway.

You have no idea how huge this request is for me!
She wanted me to make something? She really
likes my little creatures?

We have struggle much though her teen years
and the fact that she is putting value on what
I do is priceless to me!

Too Many Hooters To Shake A Stick At!

Here's the whole gang!
Designs 1, 2 & 3 all together. Each one has a large owl,
small owl and an owl brooch. The little ones are wearable pins!
So sweet, at least I think so.

I previously posted my first round of owls so, here
are the 2nd and 3rd designs.

I had a lot of fun making these and hope you enjoyed
seeing them. They will be listed in my etsy shop soon.

Also I'll have stationery that these owls are based on
coming soon too.

Would you like to see my Hooters?

Cute aren't they?

The two biggest are softies and the little
one is a brooch. They are all headed
for my etsy shop soon.

So Very Busy Lately

Worked on a new plush for the etsy shop last night. Need to go back and re-work a few things before it's ready but over all I'm pretty happy with it. Any of you who have seen my etsy shop will recognize her from my Penguins in Love art. This is Gwen the penguin. She does stand alone but I'm thinking of adding rice or something to the base for more stability. I usually like to do plush much smaller than this but wanted to give this size a go.

I've been super busy with the kids falling ill with the flu one after the other, lots of ebay orders, a lovely large website order and sketching the hundreds of ideas that are exploding out of my head.

This is Binks. He doesn't usually get pictures taken since he mostly looks like a big dark blob when I try, but he was very cooperative this morning. I guess he feels bad that Lita gets all the photo attention so I promised him he would be the furry star of today's blog post. He'll be 12 this March. I rescued him from a pet store as a bitty little fluffball. As an all black cat he was in danger of being sold to the "wrong people" so I snatched him up and he and I have been very happy together.

On further news, the studio re-do is just about complete. I have a few things that I need help moving out and some shelves to put up then I can take pictures for the after. I'm am so loving my new cutting table/shipping center! I've used it and it's lovely!
