Friday Finds: 6 Of My Favorite Woodland Critter Patterns On Etsy

I am crazy in love with woodland critters!

Around my house we have deer, coyotes, ducks, geese, chipmunks and all variety of small birds. I enjoy watching these wonderful animals through my studio window, so I thought I'd pull together a Friday Finds of 6 of the sweetest little woodland critters from Etsy.

I love the simple yet super winsome designs of these adorable creatures! I can see right off that they will be easy to sew and I would love to make these sweeties to keep me company in my studio.

These lovely cuties can be made into a backpack charm, an ornament or a fun plush. Kids would really love these.

One of my all time favorite pattern makers, has these ultra divine little felt animal doll patterns. I'm a big lover of animals wearing clothes, my felt animal dolls always wear clothes too.

I can only crochet a little bit but these woodland patterns make me wish I could learn enough to make these charming creatures.

These attractive little felt plush woodland critters pattern lets you make a whole forest of fun and amusing critters.

And last not not least I found these delightful and colorful woodland animal nursery embroidery patterns. Super cute for kids and whimsical loving adults like myself.

I can't end this post without sharing a few of my woodland critters. Excuse the naked fox, she still needs her clothes. I'm going to have a big sale in the beginning of July on all my felt dolls. Rock bottom prices because I need to clear my shop out for lots of new and exciting things that are coming. These are all OOAK pieces and have to go!

I'll let you once I have all the sale details worked out, so if you see something you want keep checking my shop for the sale!

Friday Finds: 5 Of My Most Favorite Felt Needle Books On Etsy

I just adore needle-books. They come in so many different designs and styles and there is a special one out there for everyone. Needle books can be super simple and utilitarian or absolute works of art. There are some really lovely needle books on etsy and I spent time looking through them all to find some favorites.

In case you don't know what a needle book is I'll explain, they are literally a small book usually made from felt or linen with a design on the front and has 3 or more "felt pages" to hold your needles. They are compact and easy to carry around so you can sew anywhere. It's also harder to lose your needles when they are stored in something so pretty.

I picked 5 of my most favorite needle book designs on etsy to share with you today.

My hands down favorite are these gorgeous needle books from MMM Crafts. A very talented woman named Larissa Holland is the designer of these lovelies. I've followed her blog for years and I have a felt girl crush on her. Her patterns are outstanding and I'm going to do a post just devoted to her soon.

These needle books are available as a diy pattern so you can pick your favorite colors and make your own special one.

I'm a real book lover not a KIndle lover so I find this awesome "antique leather, hardcover book" design to be so very charming. Unfortunately it's not a pattern, you have to buy the finished product. I wish it was a pattern cause I'd make one in a heartbeat, that's how much I love this design! This color palette is my favorite.

This seller makes a lot of different kinds of needle books and I had a hard time choosing just one, so please go visit this shop and see the other great designs.

I adore super cute things and I found this design to be so whimsical and fun. This needle book is a different size than needle books normally are which allows you store larger and longer needles. The button closure detail is different and fun too. This seller also doesn't offer patterns so you'll need to buy the physical product.

What a darling matryoshka doll needle book!  I have loved Russian nesting dolls since I was a child and had a great wooden set years ago. Such a cute and a lovely place to keep your sewing needles. This is also a physical product and not a pattern.

I checked this shop before I posted this and this particular needle book has been sold, but if you love it I'm sure the seller will make another one for you.

Last but not least is this beauty. I love how the bright colors pop off the black background and the embroidery is very nice too! This maker carried the colors from the front to the inside, making this a special treat for the eyes. This is another physical product and there are many to choose from in this shop.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my 5 favorite needle books from etsy as much as I enjoyed finding them for you!

Friday Finds: Gnomes

Ever since the famous Gnome book first came out in the late 1970's early 1980's I've been fascinated with Gnomes. I would pour over the illustrations in the book, just enamored at all the wonderful little details and loving the tiny little woodland world they lived in.

So today's finds are all about Gnomes!

Aimee Ray has the most wonderful little felt Gnome with embroidery pattern, that's always been a huge favorite of mine.

This Gnome print is just the cutest, with this Gnome doing his happy little thing with his tiny insect friends.

Debbie's Clay Art
A beautiful clay sculpture of the Gnomes from the book. So well done and a great keepsake piece for a Gnome lover.

Hoop art is awesome and this Gnome themed one would be an adorable gift for a kids room or a Gnome loving adult.

A Gnome garden Gnome! Seriously who wouldn't want one as a gate keeper for their garden?

Giant Gnome Paper Co
And finally, a set of Gnome greeting cards. Sent them of frame them, just have fun with them!

Here's my old Gnome that I'm going to be re-designing and making a new diy pattern of for a woodland series to be available this Fall.

If you have any ideas of what you'd like to see in a woodland series, please leave me a comment, I'd love to know!

Hope you enjoyed all the Gnomes! Give these shops some love!

Friday Finds: Adult Coloring Pages

Coloring pages for adults are all the rage right now. A lot of people see it as a stress reducing activity and well coloring is just plain fun in my book.

I was an only child for many years so coloring was an activity my mom had me do to keep me busy and I really enjoyed it. As a child I'd take my favorite coloring book, go over to my friend's houses and we'd have 4 to 6 kids all hanging out and coloring together.Obviously this was before video games, lol!

Keeping those fun times it mind, I pulled together some coloring pages that I thought were super fun. Most could be done as an activity with your child, which makes it an even more attractive pastime.

Wonderland is a favorite theme of mine and this is one I'd love to color. The fun thing about Wonderland is all the colors are weird and mixed up and there is no right or wrong.

Mermaids are always so cool and fun to draw and color. This one isn't overly intricate and can be done in one sitting.

Fairy tales are my my all time favorites and I adore this Gingerbread House. Don't you just imagine an old witch peeking out the window waiting to catch Hansel and Gretel nibbling on her house? Click on this pic or go to this shop to see all the great little details in this drawing.

Mandalas make such a unique coloring page. I love this shops mandalas, they aren't overly intricate like most mandalas are. I personally find too much detail to be anxiety producing, but that's just me. This feels like just the right amount of detail.

This is an lovely page that can be colored and then given as a gift. The details are so sweet and it's not an overwhelming project.

While this is probably for children a Star Wars fan of any age would enjoy coloring this. This shop has a lot of great sci-fi coloring pages.

I also found you some FREE coloring pages too.

I hope you enjoyed my finds today and start coloring soon!

Friday Finds: Mug Sweaters With A Twist

O.k we've all seen coffee mug cozies: knitted ones, crocheted ones, and ones made from felt. But I found a new take on the simple cozie that is humorous and adorable. It's also so well designed that The Modern Met.com did an article on the etsy shop Mug Sweater that designed these kawaii lovelies.

How cute is this!!!! It would sure make my morning super happy!

The little arms with mittens can be posed, creating amusing little moment in your day.

This version comes with a little baby kangaroo cut out in a pouch. What a great idea for a baby shower gift or family announcement.

I adore owls so this one is my all time favorite!. Little owls nesting on the front!!!

This shop's photos are so well done too. I love the sense of whimsy and fun the photos convey about this product. They just make you want to yell "Take My Money!"

These mug sweaters have a practical side too, besides just making you smile, they can be put on a mug in your office or studio to hold pens and other office supplies. I can totally see one completely at home on my worktable.

This shop also offers the pattern so you can knit it yourself! I'm now really wishing I knew how to knit.

If you enjoy adorable cuteness as much as I do, please go check this shop out. Mug Sweater

Friday Finds: For The Love Of Harry Potter

I was sitting here in my studio, looking out into the hall at the bookcase that holds all my favorite books, including the Harry Potter ones, and remembering that the Harry Potter books were the first books my son and I really bonded together with. I found the very first book in a little paper order thing they send home from school where you could buy books and thought this looks good. We read it together (with his sister) and kept on reading more and more (this was before HP was big here in the States).

Then the movies started coming out and my son preferred to see the movie instead of reading the books, which made me kind of sad, but he was still into to Harry, so we shared the love through the movies. I hope one day he'll share that love with his own son.

So I thought today's finds should be Potter related since that's what's on my mind.

Absolutely my most favorite quote from the book. It still makes me tear up, especially after Alan Rickman's death.

Amazing character bookmarks. I'm so in love with these!

Adorable little Mandrake inspired pin. No shrieking is going on while you are wearing this, just super adorable sweetness.

One of my favorite Dumbledore quotes on a great colorful print.

This is one of the best Harry Potter dolls I've seen in the handmade world.

Well this mug pretty much says it all. I will ALWAYS love Harry Potter!

I hope you enjoyed these picks as much as I enjoyed finding them!

Friday Finds: Super Adorable Cat Plushies

Wednesday would have been my buddy Binks' 18th birthday so in his honor I'm sharing adorable cat plushies with you today.

My first find is this sweet kitty. He's so full of character and looks like a cuddlier.

Such an adorable cartoon type creature. I just love that she's a non cat color pink. Who can resist a polka dot nose and heart?

A personalized drawing of your cat made into a plush. A touching way to honor a special feline friend.

This one is my favorite find of the day. It reminds me so much of my Binks. They do dog portraits too, this shop is worth checking out.

I love this one of a kind rag doll type kitty. It has such fun fabric combinations and makes me smile.

Last but not least my love of felt dolls had me choosing this charming gray felt kitty doll.

I hope you enjoyed my finds today. As always if there is a theme you'd like to see me find, let me know. Also if you would like me to feature your art please contact me at sassypackrat(at)hotmail(dot)com.
