Started finally working on the mermaid last night. She was getting very snarky that I had put Rose and the blue Doctor ahead of her. After sewing this much by hand and cutting out hundreds of more little scales I realized I was crazy to do this! But since I always finish what I start, eventually anyway, I'll keep rolling along.
Here's a close up of my madness!

Certifiable! But I bet the doll will be fab when you're done!
Maybe the rest of her got scaled somehow? Just a thought.
I just love pink mermaids, I just lost it over those pink sparkle scales LOL

LOL! I'm laughing because YEARS ago I made a 3 foot papier mache mermaid and I too cut out a million scales (it seemed like a good idea when I had started) and to be very honest, it took me MONTHS to finish! I kept covering it up and leaving it because I would get SO frustrated! After I finished her, she fell over and broke off her nose! The amazing thing is that I stuck her in a consignment shop and she SOLD!
So the moral to this scale story is... do a little bit at a time and eventually you will finish?
LOL!
OMG you have a lot of stitching ahead of you...but I bet it will be worth it and be a very pretty pink mermaid in the end.
Persevere! She will be adorable!
