Foxy Loxy Is In The House...

..or at least the studio. I did the drawing for this 2 months or so ago (maybe more?) and the pattern has been sitting cut out and staring at me since then. Yesterday afternoon I just pushed everything I was working on aside and started working full force on this new pattern idea. Not sure why but it felt good to start something new that's been pinging in the back of my mind for a while now.
This drawing is a combo of a fox and my Chihuahua Carmelita.
 Here's the original drawing.

The drawing in plush.

Sorry for the photos. It is super sunshiny in here this morning and this was the best I could do.

I've already modified the pattern to change the face cause while it works in a drawing it doesn't in plush. While this fox was fun to make I can see that modifying the pattern further to a more simple streamlined design is probably the better way to go. So I'll do that and show you all soon how that goes.

Meanwhile I'd love to hear your thoughts on this, so please leave a comment. And it's fine if you don't like it just tell me why.

Working On A Custom Tardis

A fellow etsy seller saw the previous Tardis I did for a swap in my new blog banner and asked for me to make on for him. I only do these little plush as custom jobs because of the time and tiny stitches required to make them. So if you want one just let me know!

Door panels and sides are done. Need to add the special details then the top light and stuff it firmly. I'm 3/4 of the way done. I still haven't made one just for me yet.

I'm going back and forth from this project to my art doll which I can't show any peeks of. She's giving me a run for my money and there have been some hair pulling times but I think I finally have her under control now. I'm going a bit blind from all these tiny stitches and may need to pick up some magnifying glasses soon!

Goodbye and A Treasury

Sunny The Sunflower Owl is on her way to a new home. I'm so happy that someone liked her enough to purchase her but I'm a bit sad to see her go...it's like a part of me has left.

But I now have high hopes that the other Garden Owls will find new homes too.

In other related  news my Tulip Owl is in a Etsy Bacon Team Treasury.

Sassy's Friday Finds -Embroidery

I have a crazy love for many things, but I bet you didn't know embroidery was one of them. My grandmother did huge, beautiful embroidered works. My mom has several. They are as large as paintings. I have a huge embroidered/needlepoint maybe rug my grandma made that I'll share with you one day. She was so creative and while I don't have her level of skill, I love embroidery. I love the simple type of patterns, either vintage or with a vintage feel. The funnest thing is I collect patterns but I don't actually make anything. I always intend to someday but well you know how that goes.

I found an amazing assortment of patterns available on etsy to share with you. Three of the shops below are favorites of mine and one is new to me and now a new favorite. Click on the links below to get to the sellers shop.

I adore this! I want to make it for my baby nephew.

Really love this! How sweet!

Vintage cooperation, very PC. Sweet faces.

This seller has faces on everything. Unexpected & fun!

Yes owls again. How can I not? See how cute!

This is beyond adorable. She makes plush &
illustrates children's books too.

It's like an old time ancestor portrait but of a squirrel!
Major cuteness here!

This is way too complicated for me to do but I love it!
I also love the the artist and everything she does.

Wouldn't these panels be adorable in a child's room?
Or even my studio? Yes they would!

Love this simple vintage pattern! Cute kitties for
your kitchen or anywhere.

Bits and Bobs

I know I'm not blogging everyday like I've wanted to. Life has kind of thrown me for a loop so I been trying to throw back but mostly unsuccessfully. Anyway I pulled together a post for today and I do have a Friday finds for tomorrow too. This post is just some stuff that's been going on this week, fun stuff I promise!

Tuesday was my daughter's 18th birthday. We celebrated it on Wednesday because she had to work late. Unfortunately we spent that time huddled in the basement because of tornadoes and severe thunderstorms, but at least we had Chinese food and the basement is finished so we watched the storm tracker on t.v. It was better than it sounds. I had some cookies custom made for my daughter then she decided she didn't want a party. The cookies came out so great and were one of the last cookie jobs my twitter friend Renee did before she closed her business to do something different.

Aren't these animal print purses amazing!

Wednesday my new Pullip doll arrived and I just love her! I'm such a doll freak! She's a perfect compliment to my fair skinned Red haired doll. They are now the best of friends. My Blythe clone is jealous but my Pullip couldn't stand the way she would stare at her sideways all the time! I'm hoping that in time they will all get along or I may have to get another Clone to keep my first one happy.

They are now the best of friends.

Also on Wednesday the Girl and I got Blackberry's. She got a boring black one and I got a awesome purple one. I'm still trying to figure out how it works but I look super cool walking around with it. LOL!

Isn't it pretty?

Today I stopped at a yard sale. I haven't done that in forever cause I have an yard sale addiction, but the Girl was with me so I knew I'd be o.k. I found this awesome beverage caddy! It's totally going in my studio for creative storage and it was 75 cents! I nearly swooned!  I also picked up some ugly prints in some awesome frames. Well the frames will be awesome once I paint them!

See it even has an attached bottle opener. Sweet!

Some cute things I won.

I've won 2 giveaways. One was just recently and the other was a while ago I just keep forgetting to do a post about it.

The recent one was a giveaway that oldblackcatboo had on her blog. It was this sweet little painted cat doll named Abigail. I adore her!
She's so tiny and sweet! She caught two mice but doesn't seem to know what to do with them.

Cindi will have an etsy shop soon I hope. She also paints and is a great blog friend. Check out her blog. On Wednesdays she does a Pet Tip Feature which is very informative.

The second giveaway I won was from MLB Studios. Moriah is another special blog friend. She is a super multi talented artist. She paints, makes dolls and her specialty is miniatures. I won this amazing matchbook doll. So tiny, so ghoulish/zombie-ish and yet so cute!

Look she fits in my hand!

She lives in a little matchbox on my computer desk. I call her Tiny Tina.
While you are out in blog-land check out Moriah's blog too!

Meet the Queen Of Snarkdom...

...in doll form that is. My daughter is affectionately called "Snarky Girl" or Queen of Snarkdom because of her temperamental teenage attitude. You never know what's she's going to say or when she'll explode for any un-given reason. This seems to be typical for girls between 13 and 18. I had an idea for a doll based on my daughter for a while now but finally sat down and worked out a prototype. I'm pretty pleased with it. I have more designs for clothes and testing to do but I think they are perfect for pre-teen to teen girls.

The doll is a mixture of my daughter and Japanese Anime which I love so much. The dolls will be 11 inches tall.

I plan to do specific girls like "Petulant Patty" and "Moping Millie" etc, that will be OOAK series dolls and also "Make A Doll Like Your Daughter/Niece/Granddaughter" with specific hair and eye color and type of clothing. I'll also have digital prints of the various dolls available for framing for girl's rooms and possibly a paper doll set. So many ideas!

I'd very much love to hear some feedback about this prototype. If you like it great. If you hate it, that's fine but please tell me why so I can improve the design. Either way thanks for taking a peek!

Sassy's Friday Finds - Robots

I've been having serious hardware problems with my computer again. I've apparently blown out another USB port and took out my internet connection at the same time so I can't get online on my computer right now. I'm using a borrowed super slow laptop but I can't get on twitter enough to converse so you will see only random tweets from me for a while.

This whole problem got me thinking about machines and my favorite machines are robots, so I'm admitting that I have a mad passionate love affair with robots. The cuter the better! I found some fun and wonderful robots to share with you. I hope you enjoy seeing my finds.

Click on the item titles below to get to the sellers shop for more information.

Cute and functional.

Squee!

I wish I could crochet & make these!

One of my most favorite shops! So many
adorable robots! A must see!

Adorable! Love how they did this. I need to do a robot invite
for my stationery shop too.

Cute little plush.

Not cute but no robot list is complete without the Doctor's
Nemesis the Daleks (Dr. Who)

I LOVE these! Added to my want list.

 K-9
Dr. Who's one time companion. He was a robot dog.

I want a girly robot party!

Blogger or the laptop I'm using or both is giving me trouble
so this is all I could show.

Sassy's World Cup Friday Finds

I'm a huge International Soccer Fan and I live for the World Cup both the Men and Women's competitions. It's just started and I am already geeked about it so thought I'd do my Friday finds about soccer.

I made one for my daughter in her team colors.

Show your team pride!
