Happy Turkey Day Tomorrow!

I really wanted to make a fun freebie for you all but time got away from me and the Christmas Ornament Club is taking up a lot more time than I thought.

I do have an older freebie that pretty popular with a lot of people, and they are downloading it, so I thought I'd link this post to that one. It's a set of FREE Thanksgiving Place Cards. Cute for the kid's table, the adult table and to use as food labels on a buffet.

My Special Day of the Dead Couple.

I made this awesome couple in the Spring of 2015 but I never really showed wips or good final pics so I thought today was perfect to do that, being Day of the Dead and all!

The beginning stages are always so fun!

These quick sketches are all I have of the start of these dolls. I wanted to make a pair of eternal lovers who weren't able to be together in life be can now spend eternity together.

I also only have this beginning wip pic. For some reason I just didn't take any pis of these being done, that I can find.

Sewing on her hair. (Ignore my unmade bed, my studio was in my bedroom then).

Hair done and flowers sewn in.

And finally the veil attached.

I finally got some beauty shots in my light box so you can really see the detail.

Side view of Estella with veil and bouquet.

Side view of Ernesto with his sombrero and guitar.

Close up of Estella's Face. Don't have on like this of Ernesto.

His guitar and her bouquet.

The lovers together! Ernesto is 17.5 inches tall and Estella is 17 inches tall. They are available in my shop. Here's a link to the listing where you can see more photos.

My Porter the Penguin's Superhero Costume Is Done In Time For Halloween!

The Superhero Costume is done and in my shop!

I know I was cutting it close, but the costume can be used for imaginary play too. Who doesn't want to be a Superhero?!

The PDF set comes with a medallion cape, mask, treat bag and fish flavored chocolate bar.

Super easy to make and to make the whole process easier just glue the smaller pieces on and glue the mask together.

What does it look like on the Penguin?

I made more of the typical gender colors, but mostly because purple is my favorite color so one of them was getting that purple cape!

Make your Superhero's outfit any color you and/or your child wants and have fun!

Here's the link to the Superhero costume

One more exciting thing!

I have reduced the add-on accessories pattern's prices and the Penguin with the original accessories combo have both been reduced through the holidays! You won't want to miss that!

I plan on, fingers crossed, a Christmas add-on set, but with the Christmas Pattern Club not sure I'll have the time. If you are interested seriously let me know and I'll get something done!

Don't forget to join the Christmas Ornament Pattern Club! Sign ups start November 1st!

Happy Halloween!!!!!

Halloween Character Garland Freebie PDF with Pompoms!!!

I made a super cute Halloween Garland with mini poms to hang over your dessert table, or porch, in your big bay window or wherever you what to display a little happy Halloween freebie decor.

First I enlarged the graphics I made from the Halloween Pattern Club.

I figured I might as well use them for another project too, right? Then I saw this cute video about making mini pom poms and thought these two things would go together in a cute way.

Supplies Needed:

  • A regular size dinner fork.
  • Yarn in various Halloween colors
  • Super sharp small scissors.
  • Yarn or embroidery thread to sew the garland together.
  • A needle.
  • Halloween characters and banner printables PDF
  • 80lb cover-stock, I used 90 but 80 is stiffer.

First make all the mini poms you'll need. I used 4 colors and needed 13 for my garland.

The fork is to make the poms on. As shown below. Don't worry I linked to a good mini pom making video to help you out!

You are supposed to trim them nice and round but I'm apparently not good at that. But hey a pom is a pom and they will work fine.

Here's the video I watched to learn to make these poms. I highly recommend watching this if you don't already know what you are doing...like me.

Secondly print out your Freebie Halloween Character Printable PDFs.

There are 4 pages with 2 Halloween characters each plus 4 banner images. Print these out on a good stiff card stock.

DOWNLOAD YOUR FREE PRINTABLES HERE!

Then cut each piece out keeping as close to the black line as possible.

The third step is to punch 2 holes in all of the character pieces.

After punching all the holes, thread your needle with the embroidery thread or yarn and get ready to start stringing.

This is a quick video of the process of beginning to start stringing the garland.

This video shows all the Halloween paper characters and poms strung together as one long garland.

I made a very long garland using two Halloween characters each, plus the banners. You can do as many or as few as you like. Have fun and make something that will make you smile!

I hope you enjoy these printables as much as I enjoy making them for you!!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!!

Sammy The Seahorse PDF Pattern Is Done!

The Seahorse Pattern Is Done!

It only took 2 months cause I added a whole set of videos to help explain certain processes that I felt the step by step photos just didn't do.

I plan on doing this from now on to help people who may be new to felt crafting achieve a good final result. And also to just explain things that are hard to show in photos.

This pattern is now live in my shop! Link at bottom of this post or in side bar.

Introducing Sammy The Seahorse Pattern!

The pattern is quite simple to make but the stitching requires some time and a little skill. I've made a template to follow which will help newer sewers along.

I've also added a bonus smaller Seahorse to the pattern. This is the size I did my prototype and lots of people loved this size so I added it to the pattern too.

Here are the 2 sizes together.

Lessons learned on the Halloween Pattern Club And Thanks To All Who Signed Up!

I'm not gonna lie, it was a rough and tumble few days getting the Halloween patterns together and sent out. First I did something wrong, then there was a glitch in my email system and then my email collector wasn't talking to my email system and I had to manually add everyone...ugh technology!

I want to thank everyone in the club and say how much I appreciate your patience!

In about 2 more days everyone should have all the patterns depending on when you signed up. If there are any issues contact me, asap!

Because of awesome customer service from MailerLite and a little poking around myself I was able to solve the problem. And while the whole thing wasn't exactly a success as far as my stress level was concerned, it exceeded my expectations, I had triple the number of people sign up then I expected, and I will do it again!

Look for a Christmas Ornament Pattern Club in the beginning of November!

Friday Finds: 6 Of The Best Whimsical Tea Related Items You Will Adore

Today is the 358th Anniversary of Tea in England. Personally I'm a coffee drinker but my mom loves tea and my brother is some kind of tea connoisseur so I thought this was the perfect post to honor their love of tea.

I went around and found the cutest tea related things to share with you today!

 Plusheez

Happy squishy tea bag plush! Adorable for home decor, perhaps a couch pillow of a tea loving friend or family member. Such happy kawaii faces!

Little Dear

Adorable felt pattern for making your own felt tea, coffee or hot chocolate. It could be a pin cushion or a desk decoration or a play food for your child's mini play kitchen. Look at that charming little lemon slice and dollop of whipped cream!

 Hollyslay

Whimsical child's hand painted tea set. This delightful set would make for hours of imaginary play. I'm in love with the fun bright colors and that it can be personalized too. Every boy and girl should have a tea set. I actually learned table manners by playing with mine as a child. My brother served tea to his trucks, action figures and plush toys.

Crafty Cornish Maids

This is a Hedgehog tea cosy!!!! Such a darling idea and great for keeping your tea pot hot. Great idea and cosies come in all shapes and sizes and characters. Makes me want to get a tea pot and a cosy just because it's so darn precious! The cuteness factor is about 100 here. Now I wish I drank tea!

A2D Creations

Cute song lyric tea towels, I thought they were so funny! In the US we have dish towels which are absorbent printed towels. I'm sure the use is basically the same but tea towels are just more fun and seem to be more pieces of art. My Australian cousin sent me a tea towel for xmas and it's too beautiful to use, I'm going to frame it and hang it on the wall.

 Alison Appleton Studio

Wow a rubber ducky tea infuser! Such a darling little thing! My experience with tea infusers is that weird clampy spoon with holes in it or the metal acorn looking thing. Tea bags are huge here in the US so you don't see many tea infusers unless you are a connoisseur of fine teas or maybe a Hipster. This cutie floats around in your cup steeping your tea and looking like it's in a tub, so stinking cute!

Here's a bonus Free Tea related find.

 Sew Kidding

Sew Kidding's link will take you to her FREE printable tea themed Wall Art and note cards. She's a favorite of mine and her printables are so fabulously cute!

I hope you enjoyed this post. I'll be doing these once a month now since I have so many other amazing felt things to share with you!
