Creative Tangents Good or Bad?

Has this ever happened to you? You are chugging along on a project that has multiple pieces and are excited to start work on the largest and most skill demanding one you've ever done and then....your brain demands that you stop and do a series of Rabbits?!
Well no, probably not but maybe something similar has happened to you?

I can't figure out if it's my ADD or some force guiding me. Am I afraid of failure on the other intended project? I mean it's not like the Rabbits aren't demanding and challenging, cause they are and wow are they taking three times longer than I anticipated. And I tend to do some of my best work when I go off on creative tangents like this. So should I just go with the flow even though it's not what I had planned? Or would it be better to stick with my original plan and make myself finish that before moving on to things like....Rabbits? I'd really love your advice.

I say go with the flow; your creative spirit guide is obviously channeling you towards the bunnies right now and your other project will be there once you've finished your adorable bunnies. You said it yourself, your best work comes from your creative tangents so tangent away! Can't wait to see the finished project, Deb

I agree...go with the flow. I find if I force myself to stick to a project when my interest isn't fully on it I tend to rush it and that's when mistakes happen.

I always work on several projects at one time, sometimes you need to step back and work on a creative idea while it is happening, it is not ADD you are tooo funny, my philosophy do it all!

I agree with the others. Go with what you really feel like doing! Do your bunnies! :)
If you force yourself to finish the other, your heart won't be 100% in it. Life's too short, eat dessert first and do whatever you FEEL.

Tangent away! I love tangents myself! :) I think it's probably why I have 3,000 unfinished projects staring at me. Currently I am on a sculpey tangent, and my poor little plushies are sitting in a cut out pile, waiting for eyes and mouths. lol! Have fun and enjoy! xox Pam

go with the force. I find if I go back to something my subconscious has often worked it out during the lull. mind you, I have a half-finished rat that has been waiting for me to get back to it since Christmas...
