Tuesday Treasures

Did you ever have that one special toy that was so dear to your heart that you never let it go? Well I do she's my Raggedy Ann doll. I'm not entirely sure why I love this doll so much but from the moment I received her at Christmas 1970 she's been my constant companion.

She's now a very well loved treasure of mine. She has survived my open heart surgery at age 5, a big city to wide open suburbs move, my parents divorce and the struggles that produced, my growing up, college, my marriage, my children and my divorce. Through it all and at the ripe age of 40 she's my oldest and dearest friend.
What very special doll or toy do you have? I'd love to hear about it and any memories you'd like to share.

Oh, I love your blog. You just made me teary. I had a stuffed dinosaur when I was little. His name was Dubby Dubby, and I dragged him everywhere. I loved him so much, but no longer have him.

What a beautiful heart touching post! Love the photos you posted! I had so many stuffed animals that I were close with...I can't remember which one was my favorite.

Love your doll and your story. I used to have a favorite doll that laughs when you threw her up in the air but I left my country because of a war and came to the US without her :(

There is something about that little Ann that just can't be explained.

I love this post. I can't believe what good condition your friend Ragedy Ann is in!

I have a little doll that was my first one ever. I got her back in 1974. She has pink pajamas and a little piggy on her bib. And I named her "Favorite Baby"...I know. Original, right? :) But I chewed her hands off and her hair is in dreadlocks. She certainly doesn't look as pretty as your doll!
