A New Frank For Fall.

I made a prototype head for a doll I was working out a pattern for. The head didn't make the cut for that particular piece but it was a great head regardless so I kept it on my worktable. After I finally finished several big projects I thought this head deserved a body.
You've probably seen him chilling on my worktable in other photos. Here he is waiting for a body.
Tailoring his jacket. Deciding on the position of his arms. Hands still need to be sewn and stuffed. He's a tall guy.
Hands sewn and ready to attach the arms.
Frank's all done and is in my etsy shop. There is a link to him on the right side of this page. He's  22 inches tall and is a OOAK. He's made from eco felt and is entirely hand stitched by me using my own pattern. He has a loop sewn on his back so he can be hung on a wall.

Worktable Tuesday and A Witch.

At the last minute I decided to add a witch to my Halloween Plush Dolls and finished her over the weekend. I think she's my favorite. She's a cutie, isn't she?
The whole gang is now ready to list in my etsy shop.

Some Christmas worktable peeks.
A finished prototype peek.
And yes I went a little nuts last night and started cutting out Halloween owls. How could I not?!

2 of my items were including in treasuries in the last few days.

Over the weekend I added a witch to my Halloween Plush Dolls and they will all be listed hopefully today. Lots of things are going on in Sassy's Studio so there will be sneak peeks later this week. Also I'll announce a giveaway too, so check back for that.

New Halloween Plush Dolls

I've been wanting to make some plush dolls and recently was focused so hard on my other dolls that I needed a break. I had a design I did months ago so I set aside my Halloween dolls for a bit and cranked these out instead. They are based on a design I did for a Vampire Dotee Doll swap I did last year. I had so much fun with it I wanted to do larger plush. The original design didn't have arms or legs but were pillow like but I decided to push myself further and make dolls out of them. I'm in love with them! There was supposed to be a witch and a Skellie but time got away from me so I might not do those this year. I did do a Ghost, Vampire, Frank and his Bride.
Please let me know your thoughts on them. I'm thinking of re-doing the ghost. I made him first and I think he needs more detail. These will be OOAK and if they sell I won't make anymore until next year and they will be somewhat different.
This is the Dotee Doll that inspired my design.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my little creative efforts. Christmas is kind of screaming in my ear and I feel like I'm already late in starting that so more fun things are a coming!

Not the Weekend I Was Expecting...

...it was good and bad. First off the Girl was in Minnesota at her first college soccer tournament. She scored her first collegiate goal while being injured so I'm pretty proud of her.

My nasty chronic illness decided to rear it's ugly head and had me down in bed or on the couch all weekend, but was able to use some of that time wisely and sew if only slowly.
Here's me on my couch covered in sewing and fabric.

Friday I jumped, yelled, ran around and told everyone I know that I made the Front Page of Etsy! Well my Candy Corn Plush made the Front Page..same thing. Super excited because it made it in a treasury only the day or so before.
My sweet plush treat has gotten 354 views! Yes I'm a little excited but that excitement carried me thru the rest of the crappy weekend.

I did finish 3 Halloween plush dolls and will have one more finished today, so look forward to seeing them in the next couple of days.

I also did a lovely Friday Feature on Wilde Designs too so please check it out and comment.

Worktable Wednesday Peeks

I received a custom request to make my candy corn ornament into a Halloween Tree topper and here he is below.
Today the worktable is all about peeks. I'm currently working on a Halloween series of plush that I had drawn up for a while but the dolls took so much time I wasn't sure I'd have a chance to do them. They may or may not be ready for Halloween but they are screaming to be worked on!
Even though It's been 90 degrees here I'm already feeling the call of Christmas and will soon be sketching and sewing up plush and dolls for that season too. I'll also have some related paper goods, tags, stickers, etc in the shop. Ugh, I'm kind of stressing just thinking about it! It's supposed to be fun right? Deep breath, yes I say, it'll be so much fun!

On the lighter side I sold the Large Candy Corn Plush this morning! Yay! I think I'll re-list and sew up one more. I'm going to have a giveaway this month but haven't worked out the details yet so drop back for that news and also please drop back on Friday, I'm featuring one of my lovely blog readers on Friday Finds.
